    I think you would upvote anything that Jim Chalmers says. The article is nothing more than a thought bubble and says nothing about policy, just a misguided attempt to tell pensioners and retirees to spend their money (good idea given what's to come).

    What's actually going to happen, and Chalmers knows it, is that the 'aged care' review currently underway will strip assets from families via 'death duties' by another name. Elderly Australians who rely on aged care will have their assets stripped via a new means test to be introduced in the May budget. Tell your kids to plan ahead.

    But you lot keep upvoting his narratives anyway.
