Yes they could certainly have done it better so far... but I doubt Labs would have done a great deal different.
Certainly the $750 cash handout is welcome to those on the barest minimum but apart from these, I think its wasted as there's not much chance to buy anything with everything closed by the time the money comes around.
I quite agree with you on your take on the stimulus... suspend everything from bank profits and landlord rents until the bug has run its course. Earlier and tighter isolation but not quite complete lock down as this is a killer for many even without the virus. save the spending until they need to kick start the economy again then all the stimulus they can muster.
As it is they'll have thrown every cent they can afford away by the time comes to re-boot and they'll be crying poor. This IMO will make the re-boot much harder to achieve.
