I agree with much of what has been said above and offer a couple of other observations :
1) The big 2 have had a duopoly for many years, and its only in recent times that Aldi have managed to gain a small foothold - they remain very niche however. 2) Shareholder returns for the big 2 are ordinary at best - would you invest in them ? WOW's share price in particular has copped a hiding since this last review was announced, and ABC aired interview with the CEO's 3) Suppliers have been squeezed for ages. I realise that food price inflation has been running high - but why has it taken this long to do something ?
