I don't think it was such a serious case. Not as serious as the gorgeous 26-year old female teacher who was convicted of repeatedly screwing a 14-year old schoolboy and "ruining him". Read about the case yourself if you are that keen on summary bashings by crims as justice.

Bashing someone to fracture their skull and leave them brain damaged - well I'm sure you'd prefer that to happen to your child rather than being wanked by a pedo.

The point I am making is the extraordinary fear which society has about paedophiles, and the opportunism of politicians in exploiting it. It may leave a bitter taste in the mouth but it doesn't compare with high level violence unless it involves violence.
