GPP`s Projects & OHD Process Technical Details, page-95

GPP has completed trials based on previous Anns (wheat/tomatoes etc) but was asked to do some further 'trials' on canola and palm oil. I suspect the latter might be the ones that determine whether get a early JV partner on board, but that is just an opinion. Suspect the trials will be conducted in a 'lab' environment so wouldn't be surprised if the results are given before 30 June for canola, assuming they had the seedlings then late Feb/early March. Certainly IMO given build times around pilot plants which I posted below, I suspect they need canola done and dusted by 30 June/end July latest, including the economic study on the pilot plant, if want the 20 tonne pilot plant in production by mid 2018. IMO. As I understand it takes around 3 - 4 months to grow canola in the field from seedling so not sure about lab timelines.

I presume palm oil takes longer, so suspect after canola need to make their decision one way or another to meet commissioning pilot plant mid 2018, or they will need to delay that pilot plant decision (until get palm oil) and hence when it can start. I'll let the experts on OHD debate timelines, butI am pretty sketchy on when results from palm oil might arise as well so if other posters can help out that would inform others on this forum.

On a speculative matter, some may know Lanco Resources is in receivership and they hold some of the collie coal assets, noting collie coal was one of the two options as feedstock to OHD (Ann 2016). Just wondering whether this opens up an opportunity for GPP or a potential JV partner (like Wesfarmers who use to have coal operations in WA) to look at opportunities there. Anyway this paragraph is just pure speculation as I still think WA is a state that provides greater certainty to these types of projects IMO (than Victoria).
