Well its a bigger pool than brokers once news such as this gets out. Even if its not the broker directly, friendly hedge funds could also do this.
I think displeasure of grace is a moot point, at 3m short shares you would have a pretty assured avenue of shares imo. And its probably getting larger given the last few days trading. So even at this price (at 1tcf mcap) someone sees upside in getting short. Piece it together, i dont see many other scenarios that are likely.
Major selling and someone got the whiff of it or cr talk. All imo.
