Eagle must have been watching a different speech to the one everyone else saw.
The speech was one written by classic narcissist. The first 10 minutes were taken up with him listing his mythical "achievements", spinning his govt as sailing along unbelievably well until this catastrophe came out of left field.
Then he basically said he has no idea why the challenge to his leadership came about, nor could ordinary Australians. He could only put it down to blind ambition by others.
Overall, it was "Me,Me, Me".
A total lack of insight or humility. Basically he was contemptuous of those who toppled him because they couldn't see his greatness as he can.
About 20 minutes in he basically said, by the way congratulations to Scott and Josh, almost as an aside. Then he took a few questions from tame stooges from FewFacts.
A psychologist or psychiatrist could write a thesis on his speech - straight out of the DSM criteria for Narcissism.
