Flippa Syerston has an acid plant for its requirements, always has for the Ni/Co project, not for the small Sc FS done 2017.
The acid consumption for Syerston in the HPAL is 250 to 300kg/t ore (from previous studies) plus whatever is needed for the IX & refinery to make sulphate products. Acid plant also supplies energy to project by way of high pressure steam, needed for autoclave. Otherwise need to produce from some other energy like gas.
So yes Syerston needs by itself around the 700 to 800kt acid.
Note this is lower than laterites like those in WA.
