the answer to this huge debate completely depends on what the CAPEX and operating costs per ton are going to be for KAL. as someone has already pointed out one of the largest gold mines in the world are economic at even 0.6g/t. however what must be understood when making such a comparison is that they have achieved massive economies of scale by using a higher capex and driving their operating cost per ton down to buggery. if KAL has used a cut-off of 1gm/t that would seem to indicate that think this would be the breakeven grade level if an operation went ahead.
also, it depends on POG, i think that will rise with the deterioration of the USD.
