The biggest enemy to our food security is rising costs. I'm glad the decision was not mine to make, as I honestly can see benefits on both sides. However it is clear as crystal that our food security is indeed under threat from the ridiculous costs associated with farming.

The produce price taken by farmers is at the mercy of uncontrollable forces of exchange rates and world market prices. But the cost of growing the produce are perculiarly Australian, - now the highest in the world.

If Australia loses its food security it will be at the feet of those who got us to this point of extreme cost pressures, - blame whoever you like.
