Noodles traded up to $433/t last week and milling oats is around the $280/t mark. Both are markets which likely have short covering (washouts) underwriting extremely strong basis levels. Not to mention seed markets looking to secure supply for next year.
There is a genuine concern Tokyo will have run out of noodle wheat before the next harvest. And the domestic oat millers won't have enough supply to get through to the next harvest. Going to have to come across the Nullabor.
