The upcoming patent specifically covers graphene. Patent 2016312962 ( A process of controlling the morphology of graphite) is all but granted, there is a 3 month opposition period after publication date, that allows other parties to oppose the granting. The publication date is 7/3/2019, so expired 7/6/2019 and there has been no notified opposition, so just admin to complete now, which took 2 weeks for the last patent
This patent, covers all the commercially useful forms of graphite Hazer produces. To be patented there has to be, evidence accepted proving they have created these forms. As a caution, it is worth noting that producing a quantity of the described material, does not mean it is a commercial quantity
