    For someone with such strong opinions, you sure seem uneducated on the matter. If there are questions regarding the authorship (and therefore, not only the right to patent, but also the ability to execute delivery of a patented invention), then absolutely existing international patents are relevant to the potential success case for a patent application lodged in Australia. It's called "prior art", and is sufficient to invalidate already issued patents and to cause patent applications to fail. If you are going to insist on sharing your opinion on this subject, please educate yourself further.

    Pay particular attention to the section in the image below (from IP Australia) where it states, "These searches can be very exhaustive and may come across information that would never be available in a normal patent search. For instance these searches could turn up something in a foreign location where a similar invention or process existed in the past. If a patented product or process is worth a lot of money then competition is likely to go to great lengths to get it invalidated."
