Tesla's announcement this week that they are to build a "gigafactory" probably in New Mexico by 2017 which will double the current world production of Lithium batteries has caused excitement in the Lithium space. There is more graphite in a lithium ion battery than there is lithium yet somehow the graphite space has missed out on the excitement. If the batteries were called graphite lithium batteries would it make a difference?? Guess graphite is not very sexy.
Then there is Graphene the "Holy Grail"- stronger than steel, harder than diamond, better conductor than copper, flexible, transparent, very light etc. etc. and this little aussie goldminer might have a unique graphite deposit in N. Sweden that according to Adelaide Uni research can produce quality Graphene more simply than other graphite deposits.
The mind boggles
