As per my previous post the article below shows that the US government is determined to accelerate the rollout of EVs in the country by whatever means it has at its disposal.
Though I think there may be some comprises with the auto manufacturers for this proposal, it clearly shows the determination of the government to the transition of all vehicles from combustion engines over to Electric vehicles.
I believe similar proposals will be in the wings for quiet a number of governments around the globe so they can achieve their future obligated emission reduction targets.
It will be interesting to see if Australia will be going down a similar route in May and what will be coming out from Europe over the next few months. I believe all governments will be wanting to accelerate the EV rollout and will be legislating to that effect. Either by giving EV purchasers some sort of tax break or making the purchase of Petrol/ Diesel vehicles Less attractive.
