I can see a case for higher subsidies than hydrogen production...

I can see a case for higher subsidies than hydrogen production via electrlysis/renewable for Hazer hydrogen produced from biogas because it uses carbon already in the system and is therefore carbon negative, effectively removing carbon from the atmosphere. However, if the feedstock used comes from natural gas the fugitive emissions from fossil fuel come into the equation even though the Hazer process is carbon free. This was the reason it was not included in the Hydrogen Headstart program. Obviously the government will have to do a rethink once serious production is underway, I think the legislation on hydrogen and critical minerals, waiting in the Senate, will address this early next year.
