Money does weird things to people. When someone can see huge dollars about to be made, they will often try and take them to court to get in on the action. It's horrible, but as you mention - if something was going to be a flop, no one would bother seeking funds/legal action.

They're just trying to divide the leftover cash (there's a fair chunk left at least for now) between themselves IMO so be very careful - that's the only thing worth fighting for atm
