Some investors may be thinking they can buy RCG stock now and qualify for the SPP but this is not the case. Entitlement date has passed. However, 'Oldrooted' has probably identified the cause - "The retail sales figures are higher than expected since Xmas. "
Myer (MYR) also had a good day and Hardy Normal (HVN) which went ex div. today lost a few cents but not to the extent that could have been expected on going ex div.
