ABC thinks 80 more weather reporters is value for money?
Why not just grab BoM data? Its not as if those truly effected by weather would waste hours waiting for individual points. On the net now BoM can update the details first, more locally and accurately.
Or is the ABC seeking to compete with the BoM?
Are they going to provide seven day forecasts online that is more readily available.
Better spend about $4mill once ($50k average each position - low) to give a BoM pay for service text update capacity. Eg warn me when woop woop will have over 5ml of rain, have winds over 70km/hr etc
