vmundigian,
This is not fiction i posted, i cannot remember off the top of my head whether it was 60 Minutes or the similar show on channel 7 which also runs on Sunday nights, however the CEO of the coal company was an Australian and it was a lengthy broadcast.
In respect to the dust clouds, it WAS STATED that the dust was reaching the American coastline on that programme.
If you care to check your geography and climate records you will find that the area is quite flat and has extreme wind and freezing conditions.
The coal mine is an open cut operation and is one of the biggest mines in Mongolia.
All that said, the general population are very poor financially and the opportunity of making a living outside of farming could ensure that mining keeps expanding in that mineral rich country?
Cheers,
dapper
