I think in Victoria at least Aldi is not cheaper compared to Coles and Safeway for some basic commodities. Like washing liquid, bread, milk, etc. They all have the same low price.
But Aldi charges you extra to pay by credit card which sucks. Also no packaging provided (I avoid getting plastic bags most of the times, but sometimes due to unplanned purchases I do need to get one).
I try to buy from Coles as far as possible due to flybuys if it is the same price otherwise I try and buy from the cheapest of the three.
