Steven Bradbury 4 time Olympian. One of the favourites in 1998 but was 'impeded' in both his individual events and did not qualify for the final. Fractured his C4, C5 vertebrae in a training accident Sept 2000. He spent a month and a half in a halo brace, and needed four pins to be inserted in his skull and screws and plates bolted into his back and chest. Doctors told Bradbury that he would not be able to take to the ice again. 2002 Olympics Gold Medal
