DJ Arafura Resources: Gets Govt Approval For China Investment

SYDNEY (Dow Jones)--Minerals explorer Arafura Resources NL (ARU.AU) Friday said it
received Australian regulatory approval for Jiangsu Eastern China Non-Ferrous Metals
Investment Holding Co., or JEC, to take a 25% stake in the company.
Following approval by the Foreign Investment Review Board, the deal is still subject to
finalization of the share subscription agreement and Arafura shareholder approval.
Arafura Managing Director Alistair Stephens said that JEC's capital injection will
ensure funding to progress its engineering feasibility study for the Nolans project, a
rare earths-phosphate-uranium deposit in Australia's Northern Territory.
JEC is an entity of the East China Exploration & Mineral Development Bureau, or
ECE, a major mineral exploration, development and mining group based in Jiangsu province.
