If notned's numbers are correct Moolap is processing 460 to 630 tonnes of slag per week consistently, which is at least enough to keep up with incoming material, and at the higher end quite impressive given the historical difficulties. It seems very likely that a cost neutral disposal of NMP is very possible right now, so the company could go closed loop very easily. They have no need to rush on that front especially if they truly are about to get operations break even. I still can't see them achieving volume buyers for more than $20 or $30 a tonne though.

The game as I see it now is to get the best possible numbers out of Moolap so a business case for financing (by any means) can be made based upon them. A high volume US plant could be very profitable - the question is how much capital outlay is required to realise such a plant and where is it going to come from. As always the big gains will only come from US expansion, let's hope that Alcoa come to the rescue yet again.
