As other graphite companies,such as RNU,TLG are still years away from production, Without Syrah /Balama/Vidalia, the west,namely, US, Japan,Korea, Europe simply could not get meaningful supply of graphite elsewhere, but from China in the next several year.
SYR already has a non-binding MOU with Samsung SDI prior to the Chinese announcement, its just a matter of time it turns into binding.
I also suspect the ex-China graphite price are trending upward now.
