This is the second time that I have heard that growers in Timbercorp have lost everything. This is simply not true. The administrators would love this to happen - they are trying to sell the land for a bargain, and buyers are lined up. But they cannot do this unless the courts let them and the only way the courts let them is if growers don't pay their invoices. If growers pay their invoices, they cannot take the trees, as the court won't let them. Decisions will not be made until 15 July at least.
I'm all for the Great Southern growers co-op and I believe that we should do all we can to protect our investment. However, I don't think it is right to scare people by suggesting that it is all over for Timbercorp investors and that we don't want to be like them. Just be careful that you stick to facts, not rumours, or you will compromise your position and people won't believe you when you do give them the facts.
