They might be holding up but $4 - most of us took the share issue at over $5. I think unfortunately they have lost their way. A loyal supporter for 30 plus years with at least 3 cars plus house and contents hardly any claims. Then a few years ago the neighbour's tree (eaten by white ants) falls down across my front yard demolishing only a fence luckily could have caused all sorts od damage to the house.
A very large tree quite a bit of work getting rid of it and cleaning up. An NRMA assessor comes out smuggly and says we are not paying for the removal as there is no property damage. I pointed out the fence - he then says yes OK but I have a closer look - then says someone cut the roots. Interesting observation as there was an enormous crater where the wind just ripped it straight from the ground. Said he would need to prepare a report anyway decided to get a contractor in and pay for it personally. Went to renew the insurance and was told we had made a claim. It seems requesting a claim is the same as having a claim paid for. I have since moved most of my insurances. Unfortunately I still have the shares.
