as a user ---------- I've not had a single complain about the AirBNB experience -------- I've used it in many countries for short stays and long stays ----------- it's an amazing resource, simple to use and I've not seen any confusion about rates - ever.
It is clear that we have a normal rental property problem - and it may well be that owners exercising their right to do as they please with their property has exacerbated the problem -------
so, there's the issue of the aussie dollar thing - which can be easily fixed by Air BNB ------------------ but, there's the issue of the lack of normal rentals
however to want government to encroach on how people use their property ------------ flies in the face of capitalism, it flies in the face of conservatism ------- and our right wing brigade who call for government to do something, should realise that they are going directly against their solid belief of 'government to get out of the way and let business do business'
if people cannot use their property as they choose - then, that's a hell of a big crunch on freedom.
Personally - I think that the housing issue should be seen as a different issue -------- and property laws changed to discourage the way property has priced out new home owners AND of course that governments should get back into social housing - as they were once.
Leave Air BNB to do what people want - both owners AND customers ------------ it's what people want
if one goes against what people want ------------- well, never a good plan
