As a consumer, if one disagrees with the business model of AirBNB then one should simply not use their services.
pinto, not too many times we agree, but on this occasion your spot on!
If it was not for the likes on AirBNB in smaller regional centres tourists would simply have nowhere to stay, & simply drive onto the next larger town or city.
AirBNB is a boom for the smaller townships to enable them to embrace tourism
