I reckoned that the last federal election was one that the winner might quickly regret.
While governments rarely if ever have a single term in office, the prognosis for the economy for some years is not brilliant.
The Labor government may well do what previous governments have done in similar circumstances and call an early election on some pretence hoping that they can be reelected before the stuff hits the fan and hope they can outlast the global strife that seems inevitable.
