If Blacks A Fake won 11 Grand Circuit races in Australia including 4 Interdominions, then why would anyone consider Lazarus an all time great when he has only won 3 Grand Circuit Races in Australia???
Forget the NZ races because they aren't competitive affairs anyway but people at least need to be realistic. Lazarus is not even clearly dominant against his peers in a moderate era. The majority of his current peers are past their best as well and he is still only falling over the line to beat them. The Hunter Cup is not even run as a handicap race anymore and neither is the NZ Cup.
Blacks A Fake won a Hunter Cup off 30 metres giving that full handicap to Smoken Up who was on the front line.
Lazarus is just beating what is around because he is at his career peak and the best around him, who are moderate only, are beyond theirs.
