Having been to Greece recently, I can say that on a ground level, there is nothing short of financial anarchy.

Everyone wants cash for services or products. I get the impression that very few are actually paying taxes.

I've seen Greeks charge foreigners double for goods or servies just because they are foreigners and insist they pay in cash. How do you reckon that went down with me?

The argument from the Greek people is that the government is corrupt and has stolen millions of dollars from the people's taxes. True or not, I don't know, but someone needs to get in there and find out what the heck is going on.
