    Well...

    Staff in NSW Health are required to ask patients if they have private insurance, and would they like to use it.

    I work in ED admin, and I feel pressured to get the patient to use their insurance, and so do my colleagues.

    The patients often say yes because they don't know any better, especially if they have a chronic condition requiring admission, and come through ED.

    The Private Health Industry is propping up the NSW Health System.

    That's one of the reasons why health insurance premiums are so high.

    IMO.
