    It's not a question of borrowing from Russia, it's a question of joining the BRICS alliance. The money would come from China. The pipeline connection would be courtesy of Russia.
    Europe is currently offering Greece nothing but further pain. The EU has to offer far more than it's currently doing if they want to keep Greece. They may crumble at the last moment, if it's politically important enough. And it probably is.
    But if it goes to a Greek referendum as Varoufakis has said, then the Greeks will have the final say. No amount of threats and bluster could stand in the way of an adverse decision for the EU.
    Thorburn, I think your confidence is misplaced. You can't get blood out of a stone.
