Well, Germany and other EU countries were stupid enough to give the Greeks (who got into the EU only by falsifying financial statements) a blank cheque - or rather several blank cheques. Varoufakis has now openly stated that, if he has his way, the Greeks will never give that money back. Yes, a fool and his money are soon parted.
