Quality rare earth discoveries sell themselves. Many of the rare earth minerals are absolutely critical to the growth of advanced technology yet China and Myanmar currently hold more than 90% of the world's rare earth supply. This means that quality discoveries can turn into winners very quickly. For example there has been a recently confirmed ASX ionic clay find in Brazil with an incredibly high head grade which is doing very nicely and is still a terrific buy. Enough clues there to find it without cross-promoting too much I hope although I will declare that I am a holder. According to the experts, there are very few true IAC rare earth finds on the ASX yet the confirmation chemistry can be performed both quickly and cheaply.

This GCM discovery could also turn out to be high quality but that will not be confirmed for a couple of months yet. If the discovery proves to be genuinely ionic adsorption then it brings many advantages to the table, most importantly it vastly simplifies the ease of extraction and element separation. But it does appear to be a potentially very large deposit and I will be keeping a close watch on it.
