    Such euphoria may be a little premature;

    "We expect that a prolonged shutdown of the Fukushima Daiichi power station will increase import demand for fuel oil, coal and LNG, putting upward pressure on coal and gas prices."

    Fukushima Daiichi's capacity is equivalent to 14 million tons a year of thermal coal, or 1.5%-2% of world thermal coal trade.

    Clearly, any slowdown in nuclear growth will flow instantly to more coal being burnt. A lot more.
