    I think it will 'actually' do so. Japan's nuclear power output is expected to reduce by 15%, which will be made up from gas powered stations. Hence pollution there goes up significantly.

    Japan already imports a lot of LNG from the NW shelf, so that looks like increasing too.

    Its kinda ironic that an earthquake in Japan will reduce our percentage contribution to world pollution more than any tax that the Government can think up. And exports of LNG means more activity too = more jobs = more tax revenue for the Government and the greenies on the dole. That should keep them happy.
