Its a joke what we have been forced to be a part of ... so some make plenty of $$

The MV Glen Sannox was hailed as a clean-energy leap forward — a dual-fuel ferry running on LNG and low-sulphur diesel.
But now it’s sparking controversy after reports show it emits 35% more CO₂ equivalent than the aging diesel-only ferry it was meant to replace.

Emissions Breakdown:
– MV Glen Sannox: ~10,391 tonnes CO₂e/year
– Old MV Caledonian Isles: ~7,732 tonnes CO₂e/year

Why the spike?
– LNG isn’t as green as it sounds — methane leaks during fuel transport and combustion (“methane slip”) are major contributors.
– The new ferry is larger, carries more vehicles, and uses heavier engines, increasing energy demand.
– LNG is imported from places like Qatar, adding supply-chain emissions.

Air quality has improved — with lower sulfur and nitrogen oxide output — but the ferry’s climate impact is worse.

Experts say the real fix lies in battery-electric or hydrogen-powered ferries — already in use in Norway and other parts of Europe.
So… green in name, but not in carbon footprint.
