not surprised there reviewing and updating there old policy which set royalties at 3-5% for mining industry and seeking greater local participation in mining as opposed to just a direct equity stake, every government wants there share of the pie and local jobs, no different to western countries through royalties and taxation, but the traders in the sharemarket will make the most of the uncertainty until all the facts are known, reading the article and previous ministers interviews they clearly want a viable lithium buisness and a up to date government policy, there not out to kill the mining buisness or deter foreign investment
