Personally I dont think it should end. I am all for this mine but find it hard to believe that we still burn coal to produce power. There is an alternative to coal fired power so the govt should be investing heavily in it there is no alternative to coking coal at this point in time. We have 2 coal fired powerstations in nz which burn over 800000 t of coal per year. Global warming is a real problem but by targeting projects like this they are ignoring the elephant in the room. I'm also supprised that there's less focus on farming also methane is 21 times worse than co2.
