A carbon tax is going to take money away from pollution creating power to give it to cleaner energy solutions directly and indirectly. Also the carbon tax will benefit those that need an income supplement to meet rising power costs.

The gov't needs to put much money into research and development for the green technology future. It can't all be about hugging trees as there needs to be new and very affordable green technology. Much like our roads and other public infrustructure the cost of this green revolution needs to be from the people for the people. This means there must be a carbon tax.

I am excited by the prospect of the multitude of new jobs green technology will bring. Besides this the labor gov't has put in place over a billion dollars worth of investment to clean up the coal industry. The coal miners will not be left behind and many I am sure will move on to 'cleaner' and more satisfying jobs.

Whether you believe in climate change or not there is no doubt man has an impact on his environment. Imo we (the people of this planet) now know we need to be more responsible for our environment.

Ethically and financially rewarding a green revolution can transform our environment and ourselves for the better.
