If by keeping them on a student roll of some puffed up ex-hairdressing school (now calling itself a University) rather than being on the dole is "investing" then I guess you're correct.

Churning out tens of thousands of hapless kids with useless soft degrees from barely creditable colleges is nothing but state funded theft of 3 years of their lives.

I do fully agree with you that worthy students from worthy Universities are an excellent investment. No question at all. But using these kids as human shields to back your case is cowardly and devalues their scholarly efforts.

I also agree that the existence of these half baked institutions is due to the capitalistic dash for cash, chasing the easy money of foreign students without any recourse to standards. Pay your money, drive taxis, wait 3 years and get degree in something useless.
