penthrox has always been sold on the fact hat it does not cause drowsiness or have any opioid type effects on the patient - certainly not for any period shortly after administration.

just doesn’t make sense as a rape drug. In fact how do you force someone to inhale it unknowingly?

4.7 EFFECTS ON ABILITY TO DRIVE AND USE MACHINES

The decision as to when patients may again engage in activities requiring complete mental alertness, operate hazardous machinery or drive a motor vehicle must be individualised. Patients should be warned to take extra care as a pedestrian and not to drive a vehicle or operate a machine until the patient has completely recovered from the effects of the drug, such as drowsiness. The treating doctor should decide when activities such as driving a vehicle or operating a machine may be resumed.

Secondary pharmacodynamic effects including potential CNS effects such as sedation, euphoria, amnesia, ability to concentrate, altered sensorimotor co-ordination and change in mood are also known class-effects. Self-administration of methoxyflurane in analgesic doses will be limited by occurrence of CNS effects, such as sedation. Whilst the possibility of CNS effects may be seen as risk factor for potential abuse, reports are very rare in post marketing use.

The article mentioned he had an accomplice and used an oxygen mask

His accomplice, Murphy, was before the same judge this week when he admitted two charges of aiding and abetting in the sexual assault of a child on May 7 and 20, 2018.

He also pleaded guilty to production of child pornography on May 7, 2018.

Murphy was 18 and was driving the vehicle after Brown used an oxygen mask to force the teenage victim to inhale a pain-relief drug before he sexually assaulted him.
