I am going to preface this Coto.
I believe the company has potentially taken the wrong philosophy here.
They have decided to mine the underground deposits first, partly due to the fact that this will involve the least depletion of gold resources and partially due to the fact that they are the most advanced in terms of approvals
I would have assumed the company would have created a matrix weighing all deposits in terms of approval times versus absolute returns and ranked them accordingly. Who knows what the gold price is going to be in two years time. At least two of those open cuts had been mined in recent times prior to acquisition by Horizon and I would assume have short approval times.
