    It's not just my research attempts, the NSW DPI Forest Science says there is limited research on the topic of the impact of controlled burns on wildfire. This is from September last year:

    "Trent Penman from the Forest Science Centre at the NSW Department of Primary Industries is supportive of prescribed burning but wants fire managers to more accurately monitor their burns and assess what works and what doesn't.

    ""The fuel management is relatively easy to define because you are looking to reduce fuels but looking at the extent to which it affects wild fires is quite difficult and there has been limited work done on that.""
