The overall objective of the Government of Greenland for the mineral resources sector is to develop a leading industry which will contribute positively to the economic development and create new jobs for the benefit of all of Greenland. In other words: Greenland is to be an attractive mining country which investors will prefer over other mining countries.

The purpose of this strategy is to describe the long-term plans of the Government of Greenland for the mineral resources industry and the strategic objectives for the next strategy period 2019-2023. The strategy is then to provide the framework for the further development of the mineral resources sector in Greenland.

The public consultation is intended to ensure that that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the new strategy, thereby shaping the framework for the further development of the mineral resources industry in Greenland.
