The polar jet streams are further towards the equator moving the cold air masses further towards the equators creating huge cold weather conditions across the northern hemisphere. However one of the other changes is a warmer green land.
Another reason we know this is happening is because of the extreme dry weather we have experienced in Australia this year. Which is also caused by this polar jet stream shift.
