May 9th has appealed to me for a long time, mainly because it is the first date when we can really say the Australian nation was up and running. But you are correct, it would make the sight of bare chested drunks staggering thru parks draped in Aussie flags less likely. Not hot enough.

It probably will change eventually, probably one state at a time. Will be interesting to see how long.

Not sure I care that much.
