Well my convict ancestors were brutalised beyond description and my Anglo Saxon ones a thousand years before that were "Blood Eagled,"  Raped and dispossessed of their homes and lands but today we all get along with our lives and don't  rape and torture infants and still attack our spouses with lumps of wood because we just feel a little inadequate on the day.
